Community Access
Programming was made possible by the Ste. Genevieve Cable Services Franchise,Public, Educational,
and Governmental access programming opportunities are also endorsed and
protected by the U.S. Congress in the Cable Communications Policy Act
of 1984 and the Cable Consumer Protection and Competition Act of 1992.
In passing these laws, Congress and the City Council each recognized the power and pervasiveness of the electronic media in our everyday lives, the tremendous transmission capacity of cable, and the benefits of the unimpeded flow of diverse opinions and information to society as a whole and to individuals.
